New Release Tuesday, April 24, 2012Posted: April 24, 2012
Here are several new releases that caught my attention this morning. When I saw the new Joe Satriani release it gave me a real feeling of nostalgia. I haven’t really listened to him in almost two decades, but I was reminded of when I was just barely a teenager and how blown away I was by his Surfing With The Alien album. I decided to Google search Joe to see what he has been up to which made my feeling of nostalgia go straight to depression. In less than three months Joe Satriani will be 56 years old. DAMN IT, I”M GETTING OLD!! I can feel a midlife crisis coming on, better tell the wife to hide the credit cards and freeze the checking account.

Walter Trout : Blues For The Modern Daze

legend returning to his core blues roots; creating his first blues

inspiration for the album: ‘was the country bluesman Blind Willie
Johnson’. His music is so beautiful, primal, direct and deeply
spiritual that I wanted to feel it at my back when we were cutting
these songs’. These songs represent his songwriting and music at
at the zenith of his creative and personal growth.
